Fundraiser ideas? Help?
I’m holding a fundraiser to raise money in support of The Foundation for Children with Microcephaly and for research of Microcephaly. I’m debating on what I should do. Help please?
Bake/Craft sale or barbeque?
50/50 draw or silent auction?
Live entertainment or children’s entertainment?
Information booth or public speaker?
Pamphlets or live video?
Door prizes or no? And if so, what sort of door prizes should I have?
This is going to depend on how much is in your budget and how many other volunteers are willing to help. 50/50 drawings are good if you can sell over 2000 tickets, otherwise it will not be worth it. Silent auction is good if you have some major items (TVs, gps units, car, and such). Bake/craft sales are poor fundraisers. BBQ – can you buy cheap, cook good and still make a profit? You might make out if you don’t have to rent any equipment. Public speakers are only going to bring in people who are familiar with the subject matter. Same for information booths and pamphlets and videos. Door prizes are ok if you can get everything donated. Remember businesses are cutting expenses, so they may not be willing to give anything to the cause. As far as live/children’s entertainment is if you have a few thousand dollars to spend and a name to draw the crowd. Hope this can help. I have been there and did that. With the economy as bad as it is, fund-raising is on the back burner for a lot of people as far as donating goes.
