Amp problem, possible solutions?
ok. i decided to rerun my wires in a more convenient location for my amp. First of all its probably the remote wire.
these are the FACTS: the ground is definitely solid. i did not remove it and im running it off a strut tower bolt. the rca connection is good.
my problem is my amp wont turn on. the fuses are good. ive checked both.
i did however cut my remote turn on because it wasnt long enough. i cut it and stripped about an inch off on each side then put a 14 gauge wire in place of the missing section. the remote is 18 gauge, then the 14 gauge section, then the rest of the 18 gauge that runs to the amp. what is the problem with this? it should turn on, shouldn’t it.
i now screwed my power wire in again to check it, and nothing happened. i also took a long piece of 14 gauge and ran it from the amp to where i cut the 14 gauge wire, i thought this would work- 1 less spliced connection, but it still didnt work.
Use a short jumper wire to temporarily short the main power terminal with the remote terminal on the amp. If the amp doesn’t turn on, you have other issues.
