What kind of door stopper can I use for sliding doors?

I’m moving into a new house with my family, and the room I’m supposed to get has three sliding doors. I’ve been told that it would cost too much to replace the doors with something that will lock, so I’ve been thinking about getting some kind of door-stop. The thing is, I really don’t know what would help to make sure that these doors cannot be opened. Any suggestions?

Drill a 1/4″ hole in the bottom track of the sliding door frame, about 2″ deep and then set a good thick screw or nail (something metal and strong) in the hole and the door cannot be opened. The metal nail can be removed as it’s not nailed in, you can also drill a hole a little bit further along so the nail can be moved and the door will open maybe 2-3 ” to let in air but not people.

We did this on the recommendation of our landlord years ago and we came home to find the door was open only to where the nail stopped it, and the nail saved us from being robbed.
