Is tata photon plus(Wireless broadband) is for huge data downloads?
I’m looking for a wireless internet conn. mainly to download movies( around 700-1000mb) and xbox games( around 7 gb). I checked tata photon plans. Unlimited package costs 700( it’s the cheapest).
But it says after 1 gb of bundled usage it speeds upto 155 kbps. Well I’ve calculated, one movie and a xbox game should get downloaded within 2 and 20 hours( assuming 155 kbps reduces to various factors), and it’s quite okay for me. But my question is,
Does it’ll surely speeds upto 100 kbps, or less than that? I mean is my assumptions are correct about the download timings( assuming utorrent is capable to supply 100 kbps).
Is this connection’s perfect for me( according to my needs)?
Please answer. And also mention if you’ve experienced any problems with photon.
Tata photon is useless if you want to download huge data.
Go for BSNL EVDO its cheap and gives unlimited downloads without any sort of crappy fair usage policy. The only problem is its speed fluctuates a bit. Still most of the times i can download a 700mb data in about 4 hours. It costs me 700Rs/month
One more thing the 155kbps you are referring most probably is the network speed not download speed. Your download speed would be around 20kbps which is quite slow.
