‘Hard shifting’ Oldsmobile Silhouette! Who can help with why this happens on again and off again.?

Sometimes, when the engine and tranny are hot, the transmission will shift ‘hard’. This happens after I shut it off when hot and then start it again. Not all the time, but sometimes it will shift hard. I can feel the shift up to higher gears (but not down). It is very jumpy/hard/jolting when it upshifts. Normally, I can’t even notice when the transmission shifts. It is butter smooth. But occasionally it shifts hard, real hard. I have to shut it off and wait a few minutes and then drive slowly up to speed.

Please help if you know what is causing this. Occasional vacuum leak? Sensor messing up? Some pump that doesn’t work sometimes? I don’t know. The tranny fluid is clean, as is the oil and cooling fluid. I had the gaskets replaced already (notorious problem with this engine). PLEASE help.
This is a 2000 model year.

You will have to check the shift bearing of your vehicle, this may be one cause of hard shifting. It will have to be dismantled and replaced due to wear of long use. Have a mechanic check on this.
