Keypad Back
My Palm Pre shuts down when I slide the keypad back and forth.?
I have had two Palm Pres and they keep shutting down completely when I slide the keypad. Is this a common problem or is it just mine?
This is a known problem and you should return it (unless you really like that one).
The problem is that the phone slightly deforms – just enough to tweak the battery. The fix is Palm has changed the batteries and the interior of the battery divot. Palm has put a little foam pad under where the plastic tab to release the battery sits. If you put some paper or a thin foam pad stuck under that tab it will go away. It just keeps the battery pressed down on the contacts. (Info there if you were interested in fixing it yourself.)
