What are some tips for shooting Infra-red photography?

I live in Canada and the trees just about finished blooming about a 3 weeks ago. What are the best ways to take advantage of my infra-red film?

Red 25 filter is what I used with Kodak HIE, rated at 400ASA. I think they discontinued the Kodak though.

I shot mostly trees in full sun, with the sun behind me. During the later hours of the afternoon had the best and most eerie effect.
