Alaskan Malamute fit in my life?

I live in Utah, the winters freezing and summers are pretty hot.
I have another dog, a 6 month old Border Collie/Lab mix which is an indoor dog (as will be the Malamute) but gets plenty of exercise. (Long walks, playing ball/frisbee at the park, camping)
Yard (decent sized, not sure of the square footage; fence is only 4 ft in some places) is not currently fenced completely, just missing a gate.
Shedding, size, and proper training (my Border Collie is very well behaved, even does tricks) are not a problem.

I guess what I’m really asking is will the summers be too hot ( 85-100 F -ish) and will it get along with my BC?

Get a dog with less of a coat. It could end up being really dangerous in the summer. It could cause the dog to get a heat stroke or worse. They are built for cool surrounding. They would have no trouble whatsoever with getting along with your dog however the heat really could cause more harm than good so please think about getting a dog with less of a coat for that.
