do u need a special monitor to fit a ganz c-mp408 dvr cctv system?

i have tried to fit a pc monitor to this system ,ive got the adaptors but nothing seems to work .system light on but no picture at all ,also no menu ect coming on screen ,could this be monitor or cameras as lights on but these are second hand and not sure if compatable with this system can u help hanks
